H.264 Support in H.323 (Q117)
The information in this article applies to:
ITU-T Recommendation H.264 is supported in H.323 systems using the "generic video capabilities" defined in H.245. Signaling support for H.264 is described in ITU-T Recommendation H.241 ("Extended video procedures and control signals for H.300-series terminals").
As per H.241, the H.264 capability is identified in H.245 by the object
identifier {itu-t(0) recommendation(0) h(8) 241(241) specificVideoCodecCapabilities(0) h264(0)
generic-capabilities(1)}. There are several collapsing parameters also defined:
