Novastart Launches an Infinite Canvas Operating System for Collaboration and AI Agents
November 3, 2026
Manhattan Beach, California - Novastart released Novastart OS, an operating system built around an infinite canvas instead of a traditional stacked desktop. Apps open as real windows on one shared board. Users can zoom in to work, zoom out to see a whole project, and leave windows in place from one day to the next.
The product focuses on three ideas that fit Packetizer visitors' interest interests in collaboration and communications. First, the desktop itself is the whiteboard: everyday apps such as Gmail, Excel, WhatsApp and Notion open as persistent windows on the shared canvas, with additional sites available through a bundled browser, and teammates collaborate on that canvas together. Second, teammates can join a shared canvas with their own cursors, so more than one person can click and type at once instead of waiting for control on a screen share. Third, up to 10 AI agents can work on the same canvas, each with its own cursor, while the user keeps control of theirs and can pause or take a window back at any time.
Novastart offers a free plan with limited canvases and windows, plus Pro and Team plans for people who need more capacity and collaboration. People can try the system as an app on Windows 10/11 and Intel Mac computers. Novastart OS installs on dedicated x86 PCs.
The company is co-founded by Thomas Fraher (CTO) and Nick Fraher, and is based in Manhattan Beach, California. The public site and software products went live in September 2026.
