Automated-response systems, such as an answering-machine feature built into a terminal, are likely to begin transmitting important content as soon as the call has been established. Therefore, display video and play audio from the remote terminal as soon as possible. Don't, for example, play a short, introductory multimedia clip instead of the remote audio and video at the beginning of a call. It is quite likely that this will obliterate whatever greeting or instructions the remote terminal is transmitting.
