Why do I have to retain the value of a timer I reset? (Q81) |
|
The information in this article applies to: H.245
There is no need to retain the time remaining when you reset, or kill, a timer. This sentence from the Procedures section about SDL timers is the source of confusion: C.1.3/H.245v7: "Resetting a timer means that a timer is stopped with its value at the time of reset being retained." Nowhere in H.245 is the remaining-time value ever used, so there is no need to retain it.
